About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a Data Architect to design data models and architecture for a large federal data-lake platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role focuses on bringing data sources together in a governed, accurate, and auditable architecture within a regulated environment. The position is hybrid in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with commuting cadence varying by assignment. The initial engagement requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. The initial project involves shaping how a federal data lake and its data stores fit together. The architect may design models and schemas across Amazon S3 with Apache Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and Amazon DynamoDB; establish how new and migrated sources land in the architecture; restructure the existing data ecosystem to reduce redundancy and protect data integrity and accessibility; and maintain governed access. Assignments may evolve, and employees may move to other challenging problems as the work changes. This is a full-time W-2 position with a salary of $112,000 to $170,000 per year. Peregrine offers collaboration with developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists, along with onboarding, sponsored professional certifications and continuing education, and opportunities to rotate across functions and clients.
