We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead scalable, secure, and interoperable data architectures within a cloud-enabled, service-oriented Digital Depot environment. This role combines deep expertise in data architecture, integration, and governance with experience supporting complex, distributed systems across hybrid and partner-connected environments. The Data Architect will play a key role in enabling enterprise data flows, system interoperability, and data-driven operations across the Digital Depot ecosystem. Do you have what it takes? Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in data architecture or related roles
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable academic discipline
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing
  • Strong experience in enterprise data architecture, including data modeling (logical and physical), metadata, and data governance
  • Expertise in data integration patterns, including APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
  • Experience designing scalable data pipelines and platforms
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages (Python, Java, or similar)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GovCloud preferred), including cloud-native data services
  • Understanding of DoW data policies and frameworks
  • Experience with data interoperability and cross-system data exchange, including external partner integrations
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with containerization and microservices architectures (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to convey complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise data architecture design and governance across cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and Digital Depot objectives
  • Define and implement data integration patterns (APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures) to enable interoperable data exchange across systems and partners
  • Design and manage end-to-end data flows, including data pipelines, transformations, and interoperability across maintenance, logistics, and sustainment systems
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, including authoritative data sources and data standards
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and compliance with DoD data policies
  • Support integration of internal and external data sources, including Air Force, DLA, and other partner systems
  • Define data architecture standards and best practices for scalability, performance, and reuse across the enterprise
  • Ensure alignment with cybersecurity requirements, including data protection, access controls, and RMF-related compliance
  • Evaluate and implement cloud-native data services and platforms (AWS, Azure, GovCloud) for analytics, storage, and processing
  • Develop architecture artifacts and documentation, including data flow diagrams, data models, and integration mappings
  • Support DevSecOps and data pipeline automation, including CI/CD integration and Infrastructure as Code
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts
