About The Position

The University of Lynchburg is seeking a part-time Data and Records Clerk for its Registrar’s Office. This role involves entering, updating, and maintaining accurate information in databases and spreadsheets, with a focus on course schedule data. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong typing skills, and be able to work independently to meet deadlines. This position reports to and is supervised by the University Registrar.

Requirements

  • Experience working in an office setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to understand, comprehend, and follow directions.
  • Technical skills, particularly with Google Suite and software similar to Docusign/Formstack.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assume primary responsibility for all course schedule data input, and work on other data entry projects as assigned.
  • Review data for inaccuracies, errors, or missing information and correct them.
  • Update existing academic records to ensure information is current.
  • File scanned documents to student e-files.
  • Maintain high levels of security and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Communicate with team members to clarify data requirements and discuss potential errors.
