The Data and Analytics Lead will drive the scope and effectiveness of data and analysis processes, while also creating a common data framework so that all organization data can be analyzed in a unified manner. This role will serve as a consultant to the Superintendent/CEO in establishing goals and directions in accordance with district policies and regulations, procedures and planning process. Responsibilities & Deliverables: Write and run SQL queries to pull, audit, and check data from district systems. Clean and prepare data using R, including fixing missing values, correcting errors, and converting data into the right format (numbers, dates, text). Organize and manage data files, keeping data sources clear and easy to find. Use basic statistics to summarize data and find patterns, such as grouping similar records together. Build visualizations and dashboards that present data clearly for non-technical staff. Prepare data for deeper analysis by selecting and shaping the most useful pieces of information. Reduce large, complex datasets down to their most important parts to make them easier to work with. Data Architecture and ETL: Design and build a data warehouse that pulls together student, assessment, finance, HR, transportation, and special education data. Build, schedule, and monitor automated processes that pull data from source systems, clean it, and load it into the data warehouse on a nightly or on-demand basis. Set up the data warehouse so it runs fast and efficiently, including organizing data for quick searches and smooth performance. Watch for ways to improve district data systems, and stay current on system updates and changes. Data Quality: Write and keep clear rules for good data, such as no missing student information, correct course codes, and consistent grading scales. Regularly check data by comparing source systems to the data warehouse to catch errors or duplicate records. Work with staff in other departments to fix data problems at the source, such as correcting student records or finance entries. Keep data accurate, consistent, and secure across all district systems. Follow district, state, and federal rules for handling student and staff data. Keep clear, written procedures for how data is handled, so quality and practices stay consistent across the district.
