About The Position

Arch’s 8-week summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback. This role involves collaborating with the Data and Analytics team and business partners on projects that support critical business priorities. Responsibilities include designing ETL processes, developing data pipelines, and supporting the implementation of validation controls to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Interns will integrate data from various sources into the segment data warehouse, support data quality activities using validation, profiling, and cleansing techniques, and design/develop Power BI reports and dashboards. The role also involves troubleshooting data-related issues, staying current with emerging technologies in data warehousing, analytics, and AI, and recommending improvements to existing solutions. Exploration and application of AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity and automate tasks are also key aspects of this internship.

Requirements

Actively completing a bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related program.
Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
College level – Sophomore, Junior or Senior student with graduation dates between December 2027 and May 2029.
Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
Basic understanding of data warehousing, ETL concepts, business intelligence, and data integration patterns required.
Curiosity and foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted analytics tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and software development lifecycle practices
Proficiency or strong coursework experience in SQL required and Python/Spark preferred with the ability to use AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve development, analysis, and problem-solving outcomes required.
Team player who collaborates effectively.
Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to tools or platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, or similar database and ETL and reporting tool technologies strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team and business partners on projects that support critical business priorities.
Design ETL processes, develop data pipelines, and support the implementation of validation controls to help ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Integrate data from source systems, databases, APIs, and third-party applications into the segment data warehouse based on business needs.
Support data quality activities by applying validation, profiling, and cleansing techniques to help ensure data is accurate, complete, and fit for business use.
Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights into business operations.
Troubleshoot and help resolve issues related to data sources, ETL processes, data pipelines, and data storage.
Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data warehousing, analytics, cloud platforms, and responsible AI-assisted development.
Explore and apply AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, automate repeatable tasks, support data quality analysis, and accelerate insight generation.
Recommend improvements to existing data warehouse and analytics solutions and support implementation of new capabilities that leverage modern technologies.
