About The Position

This role is for a Data Analytics Team Lead who will lead a small team of analysts embedded in product squads, while also serving as the hands-on analyst for the Monetization team. The position involves approximately half the week dedicated to leadership and the other half to hands-on analysis. The goal is to build solid data products, help the Monetization team optimize conversion and revenue, and foster a culture where product and engineering teams own the quality of the data they produce. The company aims to shape the future of nutrition and make Yazio the most successful nutrition app worldwide. This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the UK.

Requirements

  • Experience as an analyst within a mobile product squad, including event tracking, funnel and user journey analysis, and experiments.
  • Ability to plan around release cycles and handle older app versions.
  • Experience managing analysts without stepping away from the work yourself.
  • Strong experience in experimentation, including running A/B tests and understanding concepts like bandits, quasi-experiments, and Bayesian vs. frequentist approaches.
  • Proven experience building a data quality regime, including identifying and rectifying data discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL daily and using Python when necessary.
  • Experience with dbt for data transformation.
  • Ability to provide actionable next steps with analyses presented to Product Managers.
  • Willingness to identify and correct process issues when data proves to be incorrect.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subscription businesses, including mobile gateway SDKs (App Store, Google Play).
  • A strong statistics background.
  • Experience with Dagster or Airflow for scheduling.
  • Experience with data catalogs like DataHub.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of analysts embedded in product squads, measuring the impact of engineering builds and informing future development.
  • Serve as the analyst for Monetization, handling tracking for new features, experiments for conversion funnels, and reporting for the squad.
  • Set the example for how work is done, influencing the team's problem-solving approaches.
  • Establish the data quality bar, defining testing procedures for incoming data, transformed data, reporting layers, and anomaly detection.
  • Shift data quality responsibility upstream to the teams producing the data.
  • Own the process from raw event data to curated datasets in the self-service BI tool.
  • Contribute to the strategy of squad analytics, focusing on how Product Managers and Engineering Managers use data for decision-making.
