About The Position

The Data Analytics Intern will support the Data & Reporting Team in maintaining, improving, and documenting DMEA's data systems and reporting environment. This role is ideal for a student interested in data analytics, database management, business intelligence, or information systems. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with real-world utility data, reporting tools, and modern data platforms including SQL databases, Power BI, Azure, and enterprise data systems. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in high school or in an accredited degree or certificate program.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Must have a valid driver's license, preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
No prior experience with databases, SQL, or programming is required.

Responsibilities

Create and update documentation for databases, reports, and systems (Scribe, GitHub, etc.).
Help develop diagrams such as Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) to document database structures.
Assist with maintaining and organizing data team documentation and procedures (SharePoint, FileShare, GitHub, etc.).
Support the team in reviewing reports and helping validate data (Azure, iVue, MDM, Aclara, etc.).
Learn and develop professional skills in a business environment.
Interacts and represents the company in a professional manner with a variety of people, including customers, employees, and affiliated organizations.
