About The Position

Performs highly skilled professional functions in the design and reporting of research projects. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting complex compliance reports, coordinating survey administration, monitoring and collecting research data, conducting statistical analyses, and responding to data requests. Ensures information on the college's public website is current and updated annually as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) years of applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of the various departments, functions, and processes associated with an institution of higher education.
  • Knowledge of organizational processes in a research office.
  • Knowledge of software including: SSMS, Power Bi, MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.), Microsoft forms, and Power Automate.
  • Skill in analyzing data.
  • Skill in data validation.
  • Skill in working with relational databases.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skill in communicating, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to learn new software tools to support data analysis.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow compliance requirements.
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits complex compliance reports, including but not limited to: IPEDS, ASSIST, WUE, Annual Report to the Governor, ETPL, Perkins, and the AZ 2040 High School Performance Report.
  • Reviews report requirements annually and updates report queries to match requirements.
  • Coordinates all activities associated with administering surveys, including designing, formatting, scanning, describing, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting results.
  • Monitors and collects research data to assess accuracy, validity, and reliability.
  • Writes reports highlighting key findings and conclusions.
  • Makes presentations of results as needed.
  • Conducts basic statistical analyses of data; interprets results.
  • Reviews and verifies factors affecting data reliability, procedural integrity, coding accuracy, data security, and related issues.
  • Enters data and creates spreadsheets.
  • Files for special project sources.
  • Uses various tools such as: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS); SQL Server Database; MS Forms; Power Automate; Power BI; SQL; and MS Office tools like Excel or Word.
  • Creates and maintains datasets for research queries from a wide variety of internal and external sources.
  • Responds to requests for data from internal and external sources including College management.
  • Responds to ad hoc requests for data including: providing customized reports, highlighting main findings and key points, effectively communicating the results to the user (orally and in writing), and making recommendations based upon findings.
  • Ensures information on CAC’s public website (the Institutional Effectiveness page) remains current.
  • Ensures that reports published under the Student Right to Know webpage are updated annually as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties commensurate with functions and level of position or as assigned.
