Data Analyst
About The Position
You will be working for a US-based technology company with the leading Software, Web and mobile app development for business in North America helping independent retailers adopt and embrace this new key component of their digital marketing solution. We build and maintain thousands of retailer websites that must run reliably, efficiently, and effectively. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst to support our data management and analytics initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in data quality, data analysis, and data governance, with hands-on experience using Metaplane for data observability. The ideal candidate will also bring capabilities in data lineage, business glossary management, and data stewardship to ensure data integrity, usability, and compliance across the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
- Hands-on experience with Metaplane (required)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Experienced in Data Quality frameworks and tools
- Strong experience in Data Analysis techniques and tools (SQL, Python, etc.)
- Experience in Data Lineage concepts and tools
- Business Glossary and metadata management
- Data Governance and Data Stewardship practices
- Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g., GCP, BigQuery)
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong English communication skills
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor data quality frameworks and rules using Metaplane
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data anomalies and pipeline issues
- Define and track data quality metrics and KPIs
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and insights
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data solutions
- Support reporting and analytics initiatives with accurate and reliable data
- Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage across systems
- Ensure traceability of data from source to consumption
- Support impact analysis for data changes
- Ensure consistent use of data terms across the organization
- Partner with business and technical teams to align terminology
- Act as a data steward for assigned domains
- Enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices
- Support data ownership, and lifecycle management
