About The Position

Haven Energy is seeking a contract analyst to perform hands-on analytical work across the business, with a primary focus on marketing and sales funnels. The role involves analyzing lead sources, conversion bottlenecks, channel effectiveness, and cost per acquisition in a complex sales cycle. Priorities may shift to operations, installation throughput, or program performance based on business needs. The analyst will define, document, and implement data definitions for key metrics and communicate findings to non-technical audiences. This is a remote contract position working approximately 30 hours per week, utilizing an existing data stack (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt) with AI tooling for routine tasks and support from software engineers for infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in analytics, data analysis, or a hybrid data role.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales funnels, including building funnel models and understanding attribution tradeoffs.
  • Professional, hands-on experience with SQL.
  • Experience with dbt and Git.
  • Comfort working in a modern data stack.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems in unfamiliar business areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with CRM data, particularly HubSpot.
  • A bias towards quickly reaching useful answers and iterating.
  • Ability to scope own work.
  • Experience using AI/LLM tooling (e.g., Claude Code) for analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with long or multi-step consumer sales cycles (home improvement, solar, insurance, finance, healthcare).
  • Operations or supply chain analytics experience.
  • Interest in energy production and consumption.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the conversion funnel, mapping lead progression from first touch to install.
  • Write documentation for current data implementations and propose new analytics approaches.
  • Analyze conversion rates by channel, campaign, geography, program, and customer segment.
  • Evaluate channel and campaign performance against downstream outcomes (installs, revenue).
  • Calculate Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and payback by channel, considering the sales cycle and partner programs.
  • Conduct analyses in areas such as installation throughput, program and partner performance, and customer outcomes.
  • Investigate specific business questions and identify potential areas for analysis.
  • Define clear, defensible metrics for ambiguous questions and document them.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish consistent data definitions where discrepancies exist.
  • Implement data logic in dbt for reproducible results.
  • Build and maintain dashboards for team use.
  • Present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure work is well-documented for ongoing use.
  • Identify gaps in lead tracking within HubSpot and recommend improvements.
