About The Position

As a data analyst, you will leverage SQL and business intelligence (Tableau) tools to run ad hoc queries, answer questions, and build new reporting to several internal and customer stakeholders. You should be comfortable working with SQL (and/or Python), and have experience transforming data into insights through effective storytelling and visualization. This role offers an opportunity to make a large impact on a small analytics team. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, and taking the initiative to identify and address work needed but not necessarily assigned. Strong communication and organizational skills will be as critical as technical skills to excel.

Requirements

  • Experience transforming large datasets into insights, ideally including use of a visualization platform (e.g. BI platforms like Tableau, Looker, Power BI). Should be able to speak to academic or professional experiences leveraging these skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL (would consider candidates with experience with other programming languages, if they have at least intermediate proficiency).
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. analytics, statistics, computer science, data science), or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in design, especially as it pertains to data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Run ad hoc queries and answer questions submitted by customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead projects to produce new reports: Coordinate with stakeholders to define the need, iterate on the design, and work with technical team to create underlying data pipelines.
  • Lead select analytics projects depending on team need – projects may include product analytics (how frequently are users interacting with a new software feature?), clinical analytics (what is the most common diagnostic finding in patients implanted with a monitor for suspected atrial fibrillation?) or business analytics (what are the companies fastest growing revenue drivers in terms of new products, features, and services?).
  • Troubleshoot issues with automated reports.
  • Contribute to team documentation.
  • React to stakeholders needs in a timely manner (typically within a day or sooner).
  • Recognize and troubleshoot reporting issues with urgency (also within a day).
  • Manage at least 1-2 longer term projects in addition to the daily stakeholder management and troubleshooting.

Benefits

  • full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • open vacation policy
  • more than 10 annual company holidays
  • competitive compensation
  • equity participation
  • 401(k) after 3 months of service
