About The Position

Verse Medical is seeking a Data Analyst to transform the company's data into actionable decisions. This role is crucial for the business, offering high impact and visibility. The Data Analyst will collaborate directly with functional leaders to develop essential metrics, dashboards, and analyses that guide business operations. Beyond simply presenting data, the role involves explaining the 'why' behind trends and recommending 'what now,' translating complex and ambiguous business inquiries into clear, reliable, and self-serve analytical tools. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive with high ownership, enjoy solving open-ended business challenges using data, and wish to directly influence the direction of a mission-driven company.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics engineering, with experience owning reporting and metrics end-to-end.
  • Strong experience writing SQL and Python for analysis, automation, and lightweight modeling.
  • Experience building and driving adoption of dashboards (Metabase, Looker Tableau, PowerBI, or similar).
  • Experience developing custom metrics, scoring algorithms, or classification models to solve specific business problems.
  • Experience performing exploratory analysis with minimal direction on ambiguous, open-ended business questions.
  • Proactive communicator with experience working with stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dbt modeling.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or other regulated data (HIPAA compliance).
  • Experience working closely with engineers to triage and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead end-to-end analytics across business domains.
  • Understand trends in operational and customer data to influence how teams prioritize their own roadmaps.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Ops, Product, Leadership) to define new metrics, standardize reporting, and surface insights proactively.
  • Automate recurring reporting and manual data-quality checks using Python and SQL, reducing turnaround time on regular audits and deliverables.
  • Design and build algorithms/models (e.g., scoring, classification, similarity, or risk-adjustment models) that solve specific business problems, from provider mapping to fraud detection to cost-of-care scoring.
