Data Analyst (Freelance) - Remote
About The Position
Accelerate Change is seeking a freelance Data Analyst to support their voter registration and ‘get out the vote’ (GOTV) program for the 2026 election cycle. This role will be responsible for measuring the impact of GOTV outreach and translating data into clear, actionable insights. The position is a remote freelance opportunity for an individual based anywhere in the U.S. Accelerate Change is a nonprofit digital media lab founded in 2012, focused on increasing civic engagement with BIPOC and low-income communities through digital media. Their programs include scaling and investing in cultural media properties, building influencer networks, leading a digital media lab, and driving civic engagement campaigns. The team consists of digital media innovators and operators with diverse backgrounds in tech, business, civic engagement, and media.
Requirements
- Commitment to social justice, with a focus on communities of color.
- Demonstrated commitment to social change and social justice work.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with data systems management.
- Experience with BigQuery.
- Experience with Looker Studio.
- Experience with statistical models.
- Creative thinking to find innovative solutions to data challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for understanding project requirements and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities
- Develop and document a clear measurement framework to assess the impact of GOTV outreach (e.g., registration, turnout, engagement).
- Analyze Facebook Messenger and SMS campaign performance, including timing, messaging, and audience segmentation.
- Conduct voter file matching analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Build and maintain Looker Studio dashboards that provide accessible, decision-useful insights for internal teams and partners.
- Generate ongoing reports during GOTV periods to monitor performance and surface actionable insights.
- Produce a comprehensive post-GOTV analysis summarizing outcomes, learnings, and recommendations.
- Translate complex data into clear narratives and visualizations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Collaborate with internal staff to define required data inputs and ensure alignment between data collection and measurement goals.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve future GOTV strategies and data practices.
- Support ad hoc analysis requests and data inquiries from internal teams as needed.
