The Data Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to support the organization's decision-making process. Demonstrates proficiency in Power BI or similar data visualization tools and utilizes data validation techniques to deliver accurate reports, metrics, and dashboards to management. Possesses understanding of statistics and mathematics and their applicability to reporting and analysis. Collaborates with various stakeholders to gather requirements, perform descriptive analysis, formulate hypotheses, and design & develop deliverables. Assists with project requirements, data modeling, and training of junior analysts and business users. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of data sources and metrics. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and integrity of RG&L data sources, reports, and dashboards and researching data- and process-related issues. Identifies and assists with the execution of business process improvements. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Requirements

  • Bachelors: Business Administration/Management
  • Bachelors: Data Analytics
  • Bachelors: Information Systems
  • Bachelors (Required)
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence | Required
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education. | Required

Responsibilities

  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Gathers requirements for reporting and analysis and documents deliverables. Understands PSECU data sources and metrics, and fundamental concepts of data visualization, querying, and reporting. Possesses understanding of data modeling (including creating relationships between datasets and optimizing report performance). Delivers, validates, and presents accurate reports, metrics, and dashboards to departmental management.
  • Analysis & Critical Thinking: Formulates hypotheses and identifies relevant data sources. Performs descriptive analysis on internal and external datasets. Understands basic statistical and mathematical concepts (mean, median, mode, standard deviation) and seeks further development. Performs research on process-related issues and requests using analytics and provides results to management. Understands and utilizes various data validation techniques.
  • Collaboration & Expertise: Collaborates with other analysts, subject matter experts, department managers, business intelligence, and data management teams. Facilitates discussions with RG&L lines of business related to analytics requests & needs. Assists with training of junior analysts and business users. Understands RG&L products & services, business units, business processes, systems, and roles & responsibilities.
  • Process Improvement: Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of RG&L data sources, including data mapping, troubleshooting, logging issues, data validation, and documentation. Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of RG&L reports & dashboards, including routine & on-demand reviews, updates, conversions, validation, and documentation. Continuously identifies business process improvements within RG&L and assists with planning & execution. Assists with project requirements and initiatives.
