About The Position

An internal Expression of Interest is invited for the position of Data Analyst within the Arts Planning and Performance team, Faculty of Arts. Reporting to the Senior Planning and Performance Analyst, the Data Analyst provides analytical services to support the business and strategic priorities of the Faculty. Working closely with finance teams and other stakeholders, you will use quantitative and qualitative analysis, modelling, forecasting and reporting to provide insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Comfortable working with large and complex datasets.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, practical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in business intelligence or business analysis.
  • Experience in data modelling and forecasting.
  • Strong capability in data extraction, manipulation and visualisation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to develop succinct reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with technologies such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, Python or R Studio.
  • Experience with financial modelling.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver analysis to support business planning, improvement initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Undertake modelling, forecasting, benchmarking and quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Develop specialised reports, recommendations and advice for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Support the integrity, collation and analysis of data from systems including Kronos, STLAR, Power BI, Callista, Google BigQuery and Databricks.
  • Contribute to improved data processes, methodologies, frameworks and reporting practices.
  • Build effective relationships across business units and contribute to collaborative and cross-functional initiatives.
