About The Position

The Data Analyst serves as a resource for the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) and university departments by analyzing and reporting on student-related data, including personal information, enrollment history, and student participation. The position works with internal and external end users to gather reporting requirements, develop technical documentation, and plan and implement reporting projects in collaboration with Student Information Systems (SIS), senior OUR staff, and other university offices. The analyst prioritizes projects and reporting needs, manages competing requests, communicates project status to OUR leadership and clients, and partners with the Deputy Registrar to develop sustainable reporting solutions. The role triages requests, responds to ad-hoc data needs, develops and troubleshoots reports, and helps clients select appropriate reporting solutions. It presents results clearly, trains clients to run reports, audits data quality, and works with OUR leadership and staff to address training needs and maintain end-user engagement. The analyst also creates, manages, and automates diagnostic queries and reports, manually corrects some data in the Student Information System, and tracks University enrollment and degree submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse to ensure compliance with published submission requirements. The position also handles special projects assigned by the Deputy Registrar, Associate Registrar, and University Registrar; provides training and technical support to internal and external units; and prepares documentation and communications for analysts and the Emory community. The role may work from home regularly, but requires the ability to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs and requires residency in Georgia. Emory may change the remote-work status with notice.
