About The Position

TSPi is seeking an early-career Data Analyst to support federal data and analytics projects. TSPi excels in meeting the needs of our partners (clients) by offering advanced technology solutions utilizing our industry-specific knowledge, iterative Agile approach, commitment and passion to serve, collaborative and fun team atmosphere, and pride in our work. The successful candidate will support data analysis, data cleaning, and analytical development efforts while working as part of small, collaborative project teams. Projects may include data-intensive federal government initiatives involving justice, healthcare, social science, and public health-related research and program evaluation activities. The selected candidate will assist in producing high-quality data products and analytical outputs while developing expertise in data management, visualization, statistical analysis, and federal data systems. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in building a career in data analytics, working alongside experienced analysts, data scientists, and subject matter experts to solve complex challenges using data-driven approaches. This role is contingent upon award of the project to Abt Global and TSPi.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science, Social Science, Economics, Public Health, or a related field with a focus on data and analysis.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain public trust access for federal information systems and successfully complete a federal background check.
  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and data management concepts.
  • Exposure to one or more analytical tools or programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Position will require the ability to obtain Level 5 suitability screening (Public Trust Position – Positions) with SSA (including fingerprinting).

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, academic, or research experience involving data analysis or data management.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or SourceTree.
  • Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with data linkage, matching methodologies, or record reconciliation techniques.
  • Experience working with federal, state, or local government datasets.
  • Experience using secondary data sources such as Census data, geographic data, or other public datasets.
  • Experience developing dashboards, workflow automations, or reporting solutions.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted analytics tools, coding companions, or automation technologies.
  • Statistics-focused coursework or experience analyzing and interpreting complex datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Apply foundational knowledge of data management and analytical techniques to support the analysis of federal datasets, including structured, unstructured, and qualitative/text-based data.
  • Assist with data intake, cleaning, validation, transformation, storage, and analysis activities across the data lifecycle.
  • Support the stewardship and analysis of government data, including justice, healthcare, social science, and public health-related datasets.
  • Develop and maintain code, queries, and analytical workflows under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Create reports, visualizations, dashboards, and analytical summaries to communicate findings and insights.
  • Participate in data quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to maintain data security, integrity, and availability standards.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, analytical reports, and project deliverables.
  • Work effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and stay current with emerging analytics tools and methodologies.
