About The Position

This position is responsible for extracting, compiling, validating, modeling, and analyzing data for use in creating meaningful reports for end users to support strategic decision making. This position is also responsible for developing solutions and initiatives for providing effective tracking, reporting and data handling and assisting with report generation for the organization. The role utilizes data to construct narratives, improves processes and continuously seeks answers to the most complex challenges. The analyst manipulates and analyzes large, often disorderly data sets, working independently or as part of a collaborative team. They collaborate with internal and external partners and organizations in the design and execution of analytic studies to answer business and research questions. The position requires managing multiple tasks and meeting time constraints and user requirements. The analyst collaborates with contractors, vendor representatives and internal department team members. They prepare reports and visuals from medical, pharmacy, provider, clinical and claims data sources using SQL, SSRS, MS Excel, Tableau, and/or others. The role involves presenting reports and findings to various internal and external groups. The analyst applies strategic perspectives to improve data related functions, continuous improvement, and opportunities for automation. They determine the best method for extracting and presenting complex data sets and information. The position conducts research of root causes to address data questions or data discrepancies. The analyst utilizes strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail in performing all job duties and requirements. They maintain precise written documentation and produce effective presentations that assist management in making sound and informed decisions. The analyst works with internal teams on assigned projects and acts as a consultant to assist with system requirements and data needs. The role demonstrates extensive and diverse knowledge of health care data, metrics, systems, and standards. They assist with the development and maintenance of desktop processes. The analyst maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA rules and regulations. They maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. The role involves working collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. The analyst displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with members and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. The analyst respectfully takes direction from their manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced skills in working with hardware, software, support, and management of computer systems.
  • Ability to adapt extremely well to newer applications.
  • Advanced skills working with programming and networking computer software and systems.
  • Extensive and diverse knowledge of health care data, metrics, systems, and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain precise written documentation.
  • Ability to produce effective presentations.
  • Ability to work with internal teams on assigned projects and act as consultant to assist with system requirements and data needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
