Summer 2027 Data Analyst enGen Undergraduate Intern
About The Position
The Summer 2027 Data Analyst enGen Undergraduate Internship provides students with practical, hands-on experience supporting enGen’s enterprise data platforms, data operations, analytics, and AI initiatives. As part of the DataOps Platform team, the intern works alongside data engineers, analysts, platform administrators, architects, and business stakeholders on strategic data initiatives and enterprise projects. The role offers exposure to DataOps practices, data engineering concepts, analytics platforms, and enterprise data management solutions, including Atlan, Monte Carlo, Starburst, and dbt. The program includes hands-on training and exposure to career paths in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Operations, Artificial Intelligence, Information Management, and Business Intelligence. Through mentorship, project-based learning, and real-world experience, interns develop analytical, technical, and business skills while supporting data-driven decision-making, operational improvements, and solutions that deliver business value. Applicants must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not offered for this role. The position follows the company’s ethical, legal, privacy, and information security requirements, including policies concerning HIPAA and confidential customer information.
Requirements
- Full- or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. independently; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Comply with applicable company policies and training requirements, including the Code of Business Conduct, privacy policies, HIPAA requirements, and information security guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Science & Technology (IST), Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related technology discipline.
- Experience with SQL and writing database queries.
- Experience with or coursework in Python programming.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data and develop SQL-based queries and reporting solutions.
- Support data engineering, DataOps, and enterprise data platform initiatives.
- Assist with data quality and observability efforts.
- Participate in AI-related projects and research technical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders on enterprise data initiatives.
- Provide services supporting the day-to-day operating objectives of the assigned area.
- Participate in projects and programs suited to the needs of the assigned area.
- Participate in planning and implementing projects and initiatives.
- Conduct research and reporting, including recommendations or alternative proposals for action when requested by management.
- Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the operating unit.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clientele, and other internal or external constituencies to plan assignments and resolve day-to-day operational problems.
- Under supervision and with guidance, training, and mentoring, provide entry-level professional services and carry out assigned activities.
