They are seeking a Data Analyst to join their team and work closely with the Lead Data Analyst. The role involves collecting, filtering, and interpreting data from analytical equipment and test rigs, and summarizing this data for technical leadership to inform design and scale-up decisions for the ZCS technology platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Data Science with proven analytical experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely for a broad audience.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to work, with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience with AVEVA PI System data management and acquisition.
  • Experience in the automation of routine data management tasks.
  • Experience with programming languages such as R or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior scientists and engineers to isolate individual experiments from data generated by ZCS analytical lab equipment, test rigs, and pilot plants, ensuring data accuracy and completeness for both individual experiments and time series data.
  • Isolate and store all data for individual experiments in an easily retrievable format for later review and analysis.
  • Perform data cleaning, manipulation, and statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Utilize statistical analysis software like JMP to understand processing trends and identify anomalies indicating operating issues.
  • Create clear and informative data visualizations for succinct interpretation of findings by a wide technical audience.
  • Communicate data summaries effectively to technical leadership and identify areas for process improvement based on data-driven insights.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of experiments to efficiently build required datasets.
  • Perform statistical review of results with analytical and operations teams, checking for bias, sources of variability, and ensuring repeatability.
  • Assist analytical and operations teams in setting up systems to ensure consistent, reliable performance.
  • Help teams extract actionable information from structured data, such as repeated batch experiments and spectral data from analytical tools.
