Reporting to the Director of Public Health, the Data Analyst supports Public Health and Wellbeing’s mission of creating a community of care and the Wellness at Penn vision of integrating the science, theory, and practice of Wellness. The Data Analyst fulfills this role by providing the Public Health and Wellbeing team with thoughtful assessment of undergraduate, graduate, and professional student data and clear and effective report writing to help tell the Wellness at Penn story. The Data Analyst manages multiple data systems and oversees survey administration as well as semester and annual population level data reviews that help tell the story of Wellness. This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and communicating data that will provide Wellness at Penn with a data-driven, evidence-based approach to infusing wellness across its nine domains (Physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupation, environmental, creativity, and financial wellness) through inclusive, innovative, and impactful initiatives. The functions of this position include analyzing data to inform disease prevention efforts, identify patterns to help develop interventions, support evaluation of ongoing health and wellness programs, support a centralized method for evaluating, reporting, and managing transactions for student immunization and insurance requirements, and developing consistent processes and workflows in a new and evolving organization. This position will also collaborate closely with University data system operators including but not limited to Institutional Research and Advancement, Student Registration and Financial Services, and Data Warehouse, and Penn Medicine.
