Data Analyst - Supply Chain

About The Position

This role plays a critical role in identifying cost savings, reducing unwarranted clinical variation, and supporting data-driven decision-making across Physician Preference Items (PPI) and Med-Surg service lines. The analyst partners closely with consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure analytical outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with client delivery priorities. This is a hands-on analytical role that goes beyond report creation. The Senior Analyst applies judgment, context, and storytelling to help consultants and healthcare leaders understand what the data is actually saying and what actions are worth pursuing. Responsibilities include benchmarking, gap analysis, pricing and contract review, utilization analysis, opportunity identification, and presentation development. The role also contributes to improving analytical standards, documentation, and repeatability while informally mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in healthcare, supply chain, consulting, or a related analytical environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables; macros a plus) and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SQL, Access, or other data query tools
  • Experience supporting consulting, delivery, or client-facing teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., analytics, business, healthcare, economics)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with healthcare supply cost, utilization, or clinical data related to Physician Preference Items (including Surgical Services) and/or Med-Surg service lines
  • Familiarity with service line analytics supporting savings identification, utilization optimization, and standardization initiatives
  • Macros a plus in Excel
  • Advanced degree a plus
