About The Position

The Data Analyst II performs professional and technical work involving enterprise data analysis, reporting, and information management to support statewide Judiciary operations, strategic planning, and decision-making. Combines both business and technical expertise with complex reporting and data analysis initiatives by integrating data from multiple sources. Constructs reporting solutions, advises on reporting standards that support business requirements, and collaborates with Judiciary divisions to enhance the quality, accessibility, and use of data. Work is performed with moderate oversight from Technology Services Center management. The ideal candidate brings solid analytical and technical skills, communicates clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences, and works collaboratively across divisions. They are detail‑oriented, proactive in improving reporting processes, and committed to data quality, consistency, and professional public service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in database management, reporting, or data analysis.
  • OR Associate degree in a related technical field and four years of progressively responsible experience.
  • OR High school diploma and six years of progressively responsible experience in database management, reporting, or data analysis.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, reporting tools, and data management principles.
  • Ability to design and optimize complex database queries and reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of data validation techniques and best practices for ensuring data quality.
  • Ability to analyze large and complex datasets, identify trends, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to design automated reporting processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical reporting solutions.
  • Ability to lead data-related projects and coordinate work across multiple business areas.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Confer with Judiciary divisions, leadership, and external partners to identify complex business needs and construct data solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex reports, dashboards, automated reporting processes, and data visualizations using multiple reporting and database tools.
  • Create and optimize advanced database queries to extract, validate, integrate, and analyze data from multiple systems.
  • Establish and maintain data standards, validation procedures, and reporting methodologies to promote consistency and data quality across the Judiciary.
  • Guide or coordinate enterprise reporting initiatives and assigned data projects involving multiple business areas.
  • Analyze trends and performance measures to improve business processes, reporting practices, and operational outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services Center staff, vendors, and external agencies on system enhancements, data integrations, and reporting solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance the Judiciary's internal reporting and communication resources to improve access to information and self-service reporting.
  • Provide support to staff regarding reporting tools, data practices, and reporting standards.
  • Training others.
