About The Position

The Data Analyst I gathers, audits, analyzes, and reports low- to moderate-complexity data under general supervision. Ensures data integrity. May perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision-making, or design predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities. Serves as the lead for collecting, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting internship data for the Office of Internships. Supports data-informed decision-making by developing assessment strategies, tracking student outcomes, identifying trends, and creating reports that demonstrate the impact of internship programs. Develops and administers internship-specific surveys, evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and other assessment tools. Works with the Career Center operations team to utilize established reporting systems, dashboards, and data resources for internship-related assessment. Compiles regular and ad-hoc reports for government officials, system and University leadership, employers, and Career Center staff. Ensures that reports are clear and easily understandable. Develops and maintains Office of Internships workflows and documentation related to assessment, information collection, evaluation, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Some data analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerBI, Power Automate, Tableau, and Qualtrics.
  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and knowledge of statistical processes.
  • Prioritizes and executes multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with professional colleagues.
  • Exercises attention to detail with a high level of accuracy without losing sight of the “big picture.”
  • Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, operations management, library information sciences, statistics, mathematics, or other related research or analytical fields of study
  • Master's degree with relevant student or academic project experience.
  • Two (2) years of related research or analytical experience.
  • Experience with extracting data and creating reports that are accurate and meaningful.
