About The Position

The Data Analyst partners with business stakeholders to define data reporting requirements and builds business intelligence reports and dashboards to support the operational and strategic goals of the Board of Pensions. The Data Analyst presents data analysis, communicating valuable insights and educates others in the organization in how to effectively engage with these insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years of related professional experience.
  • An ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to explain and translate complex terms into easily understandable terms.
  • Exceptional data acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent data visualization skills, specifically with Power BI.
  • Intermediate SQL to access and model data needed for reports, interfaces, and metrics.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of basic statistics and mathematical models.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Wireframe design and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced understanding of data and system validation methods.
  • An ability to create and implement testing scenarios as part of a change control / CICD pipeline.
  • An ability to stay current and maintain a level of professional expertise in analytical best practices via seminars, literature, and formal training.
  • An ability to work on-site Tuesday – Thursday at the 2000 Market Street office in Philadelphia.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AI tools or agents in a data warehousing context a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI Reports and dashboards for various business domains, including Benefits, Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Analyze and model raw data in the Snowflake data warehouse using SQL.
  • Utilize findings to improve report structure and/or recommend Data Engineering improvements.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented report logic in a team setting to promote shared understanding and collaboration.
  • Contribute to and improve upon a consistent design language across your output.
  • Validate business logic and use testing frameworks that improve the quality of analytics objects.
  • Collaborate with both stakeholders and data engineers and architects, demonstrating the ability to translate between business requirements and technical requirements.
  • Proactively identify ongoing and ad-hoc reporting and analysis that will support business decisions and generate insights to improve strategic decision making.
  • Contributes to the Data, Reporting and Analytics ‘Center of Excellence’ by providing training, resources, process documentation, and governance to maintain best in class data platform usage across stakeholders.
