The Target Data & Analytics team creates the tools and data products to sustainably educate and enable our business partners to make great data-based decisions at Target. We help develop the technology that personalizes the guest experience - from product recommendations to relevant ad content. We’re also the source of the data and analytics behind Target’s Search applications, fraud detection, Supply Chain optimization and demand forecasting. We play a key role in identifying the test-and-measure or A/B test opportunities that continuously help Target improve the guest experience, whether they love to shop in stores or at Target.com. As a Data Analyst, you will leverage data, statistics, and visualization to generate actionable insights that drive value across multiple business functions. In this role, you will utilize market-leading tools, data automation, and analytical methodologies to support reporting and performance measurement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze trends, optimize digital strategies, and provide clear recommendations for business growth. We are looking for an analytical thinker with hands-on experience in data extraction, transformation, and visualization. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large datasets, building scalable reports, and simplifying complex data to enable efficient decision-making. Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year as a Data Analyst with strong academic performance in a quantitative field; or strong equivalent experience
  • Intermediate SQL experience writing complex queries
  • Solid problem solving, analytical skills, data curiosity, data mining, Data creation and consolidation
  • Support conclusions with a clear, understandable story that leverages descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and data visualizations
  • Willingness to ask questions about business objectives and the measurement needs for a project workstream, and be able to measure objectives & key results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams, and translate ideas between them
  • Knowledge of AB Testing methods, time series, S&OP planning, Forecasting models including statistical analysis
  • Experience in analytics tools such as: SQL, Excel, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, R, Domo, Adobe Analytics (or Google Analytics) and/or equivalent technologies

  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven approaches (e.g., predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI-enabled tools) to enhance decision-making.
  • Works closely with cross functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities and delivers solutions in partnership with digital technology and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across all reports and analysis.
  • Cultivates and maintains positive partners relationships to understand their data needs, provides insights and finds improvement opportunities, and ensures reporting solutions address key objectives.
