Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related business major required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in an analytical environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding and experience creating database-driven report templates and dashboards, as well as modifying existing report templates and dashboards.
  • Willingness to produce reports on a regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis containing primary research, ultimately utilized by leaders at all levels within Universal Parks and Resorts.
  • Desire to work with colleagues to design the most effective data visualizations in reports and dashboards that identify trends and unlock key insights.
  • Highly collaborative team player who is focused, self-motivated, detail oriented, accurate, and flexible – able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with databases and Structured Query Language (SQL), and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with Excel worksheets and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • Understanding of statistical modeling and concepts such as significance testing, regression, time series modeling, etc. will help in this position.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, concepts, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data models and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to support enterprise reporting needs.
  • Translate business requirements (provided by Sr. Business Analysts) into scalable data solutions, including data models, transformations, and visualizations.
  • Partner with Creative IT and data engineering teams to source, structure, and integrate data from the enterprise data warehouse into reporting environments.
  • Ensure data accuracy, validation, and integrity across all reporting outputs; proactively identify and resolve data issues.
  • Troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize reporting performance and usability, including query efficiency and dashboard design improvements.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and data exploration to enable deeper insights and faster decision-making.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
