About The Position

The role reports to the Director, Data Management, and involves being part of an innovative and dynamic team that translates business needs and opportunities into data-driven solutions for the Commercial Insurance business. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in data analytics, product development, and collaboration with business stakeholders, while supporting the creation of scalable data products on cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related field
• Must have at least intermediate knowledge of SQL and/or Python (academic or work experience)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Interest in data analytics, data science, or data engineering
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
• Successful clearance of a background check (including criminal checks and leadership references).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of GCP platform, BigQuery, JIRA, GIT tools
• Prior experience in P&C insurance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of data products for Commercial Insurance
• Perform exploratory data analysis using SQL, Python, or similar tools
• Contribute to data documentation, data quality, data process controls and governance activities.
• Participate in requirement gathering sessions and help document business requirements
• Learn and apply modern data tools, analytics practices, and Agile methodologies
