Data Analyst / Applied Mathematician

Arcfield•Tredyffrin Township, PA

About The Position

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Analysis may cover all levels of a system product, including concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. The role converts customer or product requirements into systematic total-system solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints. It also includes functional and timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer needs into hardware and software specifications. Conducts technical analysis to help customers make informed decisions that optimize the performance of large, complex systems. Creates, modifies, and runs simulation tools and models, and reviews system performance specifications to ensure those simulations and models evaluate the intended performance accurately. Reviews and interprets analysis results and presents findings and recommended courses of action to customers. Analysis tools, models, and data are typically handled using platforms such as Matlab, Python, Perl, Java, C++, or R.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, or electrical), physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, image science, or a similar technical discipline.
  • 0–2 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • High degree of computer literacy and ability to rapidly learn complex applications and tools.
  • Competence or experience in one or more of the following: Matlab, Python, Perl, Java, C++, or R.
  • Strong analysis skills, including the ability to identify and accurately describe system issues.
  • Ability to write and speak confidently, articulately, and clearly, and to participate in and brief at technical meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
  • Analyze systems across their lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Convert customer or product requirements into total-system solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
  • Conduct technical analysis to support customer decisions and optimize the performance of large, complex systems.
  • Create, modify, and run simulation tools and models for detailed technical analysis.
  • Review system performance specifications to ensure simulations and models accurately evaluate intended performance.
  • Review, evaluate, and interpret analysis results; present results and recommended courses of action to customers.
