About The Position

The Data Analyst 2 collects, compiles, transforms, and analyzes data, metrics, and statistics from internal and external sources to create reports and insights for management. The role serves as a specialist on reporting tools and dashboards within its area of specialization, supporting JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. The position makes decisions within assigned areas of responsibility, provides recommendations to a supervisor, and refers exceptions to the supervisor as needed. The stated career path is Senior Data Analyst. The analyst partners with business leaders to understand operational needs and build timely, scalable reports using various data sources. The role advises team members on available data resources and tools, identifies relevant data sets, creates reports and dashboards for strategic decisions and daily operations, and collaborates with the internal data consulting team on large or complex requests. It also supports data quality, reporting efficiency, and the integration of technology and tools into daily practices. The role is in a normal office environment. Travel is typically not required. Physical activities include frequent sitting and viewing a computer screen, and occasional standing, walking, and reaching above the shoulder. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in Power Apps and Power Automate.
Intermediate experience with Power BI.
Knowledge of SQL, including creating simple SQL queries.
Knowledge of integrations and API development.
Ability to connect to multiple data sets, import data, and transform it for visualizations and further analysis.
Proficiency in delivering data visualizations to internal customers based on project requirements.
Ability to compile statistics and prepare statistical reports.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze data from internal and external sources, depending on the supported function.
Maintain knowledge of key operational metrics within the assigned function and related teams.
Extract large data sets, and manipulate and clean data to support reporting and analysis.
Use data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to communicate metrics and insights to management.
Audit data, data sources, and processes for compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
Support leadership with scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests.
May assist with developing or revising data analytics strategy within the assigned function.
Build tools and processes to improve data management and reporting efficiency under leadership direction.
Document historical reporting, parameters, and datasets to allow time-series comparisons.
Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs and build timely, scalable reports using various data sources.
Advise team members on available data resources and tools, and assist with finding, cleaning, and analyzing raw data.
Identify relevant data sets and build reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making and day-to-day operations.

Advise on best practices for integrating technology and tools into daily practices across the assigned function.
Build custom reports and templates for team members as needed.
