About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Data AI and Analytics Lead to support KITS and a government customer in Arlington, Virginia. The role provides strategic and technical expertise to a senior Department of War executive organization. The successful candidate will lead the integration of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven decision support into enterprise-level mission operations. The Lead will work with government leadership, technical stakeholders, and mission partners to identify ways to use data as a strategic asset, improve operational effectiveness, and accelerate executive decision-making. The position requires translating complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for senior government officials while aligning work with Department-wide modernization priorities. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or access is required.

Requirements

PhD, possibly a Master’s degree, in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
15 years of relevant experience in data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or enterprise data management.
Demonstrated experience developing or evaluating AI/ML solutions in complex enterprise environments.
Experience with Python, SQL, statistical analysis, data visualization, and enterprise data platforms.
Strong understanding of data governance, analytics architecture, and information security requirements.
Experience preparing technical recommendations and executive briefings for senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple technical and organizational stakeholders.
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or access.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in a related technical discipline.
Experience supporting DoW, Intelligence Community, or federal national security organizations.
Familiarity with DoW data strategies, enterprise data architecture, and AI governance.
Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), and large-scale data environments.
Experience supporting senior military or civilian executive leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and integration of enterprise data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning initiatives supporting mission priorities.
Evaluate data environments, analytics capabilities, and organizational data maturity to identify modernization and operational improvement opportunities.
Develop analytical frameworks, performance measures, and executive dashboards to assess mission effectiveness, capability performance, and operational risk.
Support data governance, interoperability, data quality, and integration across organizations and mission systems.
Assess emerging AI and analytics technologies for technical feasibility, mission relevance, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
Coordinate with government stakeholders to establish data requirements, identify authoritative sources, and validate analytical outputs.
Develop executive-level briefings, technical assessments, and decision-support materials.
Establish measurable evaluation criteria for AI and analytics pilots, including baselines, data provenance, confidence levels, and operational outcomes.
Identify data-related risks, dependencies, and barriers affecting enterprise modernization initiatives.
