About The Position

The Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation is seeking a DARS Curriculum Analyst. The position is part-time, benefits-eligible at 20 hours per week. The individual in this position will work under general supervision to interpret, encode and maintain undergraduate degree requirements with regards to general academic and curricular activities and actions in accordance with priorities set by the Office of the Provost.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and one (1) year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with DARS/uAchieve or other degree audit package.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with PeopleSoft or other student information systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with curriculum process and higher education systems and related business principles.
  • Demonstrated comfort level with ambiguity and changing timelines and priorities.
  • Experience with project management and customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience using good organizational skills.
  • Experience working with technical/specification writing and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and success in creating and updating website pages, including posting copy and loading images to websites.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with software applications including PeopleSoft, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret, encode, verify, and maintain degree programs (majors, minors, concentrations, emphasis areas and certificates) throughout a variety of degree audits.
  • Maintain DARS tables and monitor courses and/or curriculum changes.
  • Maintains knowledge of structure and location of various data sources to assist in creation of queries and applications utilizing that data.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of MLFC curriculum
  • Support academic advisors with complex DARS exceptions
  • Use existing technical framework and structure to solve problems and present new solutions to meet user needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues submitted by the university community through a customer relationship management system.
  • Collaborate with university and technical staff in the development and testing of new software, software upgrades, program enhancements, and resolutions to system problems as they relate to the degree audit reporting.
  • Assist in gathering information and drafting requirement specifications for software and encoding modifications.
  • Collect and/or documents end user requirements utilizing a variety of methods including, but not limited to: interviews, meetings, surveys, document analysis, business process description, use case scenarios, and workflow analysis to ensure thorough understanding and documentation of all aspects associated with request.
  • Query EPM data and run reports related to curricular requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and projects
  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Manage undergraduate program checksheets and sequencing maps.
  • Other duties as assigned.
