Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher 1.0 FTE. This role involves teaching the curriculum of Independent School District 196 while aligning with best practices in the field of Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE). The DAPE Teacher will lead a specially designed physical education program for students with disabilities and/or a substantial delay or disorder in physical development. Key responsibilities include developing and demonstrating culturally responsive practices for equitable outcomes, proactively supporting students with emotional regulation difficulties, and providing instruction in social-emotional skills. The position requires demonstrating current knowledge of instructional best practices and methodology for DAPE, employing high expectations with various instructional techniques, and collaborating with others to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. The role also involves advocating for students with disabilities to ensure high achievement and promoting strong communication with staff, parents, and other professionals, while carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
