About The Position

Job Summary The Catholic school teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in assigned subject areas while integrating Catholic values and teachings into daily classroom life. The teacher supports the spiritual, academic, moral, and social development of students in accordance with the mission of the Catholic Church and the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
  • State teaching certification or eligibility for certification
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing (often required or strongly preferred)
  • Commitment to Catholic education and values
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment. Any offer would be contingent upon successful completion of any required screening.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
  • Incorporate Catholic teachings, values, and social justice principles into instruction
  • Participate in and support prayer, liturgies, Mass, and other religious activities
  • Model Christian values in interactions with students, staff, and families
  • Foster students’ spiritual growth and moral development
  • Support the academic and emotional needs of students
  • Encourage respect, responsibility, and service to others
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and concerns
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school goals
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Contribute to a faith-filled, respectful school culture
  • Stay current with educational best practices and teaching strategies
  • Adhere to school policies, diocesan guidelines, and accreditation standards
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
