Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher 1.0 FTE (LTS for the entire school year). This role involves teaching the curriculum of Independent School District 196 while aligning with best practices in the field of Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE). The teacher will lead a specially designed physical education program for students with disabilities and/or a substantial delay or disorder in physical development. Key aspects of the role include developing and demonstrating culturally responsive practices for equitable outcomes, providing proactive support for students with emotional regulation difficulties, instructing students in social-emotional skills, and staying current with DAPE instructional best practices and methodology. The position requires employing high expectations for students using various instructional techniques and media, collaborating to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, and advocating for students with disabilities to ensure high achievement. Strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and other professionals are essential, along with carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
