About The Position
Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Danish Teacher for a one-to-one general Danish course in Washington, United States. The course will consist of 30 total hours, with sessions lasting two hours each. The student is a beginner, aged 65 and over, and the motivation for learning is to communicate with family in Denmark. The preferred schedule is once per week on Wednesdays, with mornings being the first choice. The ideal candidate will be a native Danish speaker or hold a relevant teaching qualification, have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter, possess a valid work permit/visa, and live within 20 miles of Washington DC. The schedule and location may be flexible, and the hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. This is a freelance, part-time position.
Requirements
- Native Danish speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
- Valid work permit/visa.
- Live within 20 miles of Washington DC.
- Availability for a freelance, part-time position.
- Ability to provide CV with references.

Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one Danish language training to a beginner student.
- Conduct two-hour sessions, once per week.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the student's motivation for learning (communication with family in Denmark).
- Potentially teach at the trainer's office in Washington DC, with flexibility for other locations.
- Manage scheduling, preferably on Wednesdays (morning or afternoon).
