About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is seeking an experienced dance coach with a background in competitive dance team training for the UMLY School of Dance Education. This position focuses on drill-style instruction, emphasizing synchronization, precision, turns, leaps, jumps, and overall team performance quality. The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living, and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Requirements

18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill
Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill
Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
Manages all equipment.
Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
