About The Position
This is an ongoing assignment on an as needed basis scheduled to work less than 19 hours a week at the Sandi Simon Center for Dance, 350 N. Cypress St, Orange, CA 92866.
Requirements
- Experience accompanying dance classes (ballet, modern, and/or jazz)
- Exceptional piano skills with proficiency in sight-reading, improvisation, and playing in various styles and genres
- Strong understanding of musical elements as they relate to movement (tempo, rhythm, phrasing, dynamics)
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to take direction and adapt quickly to changing needs within a class
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
Responsibilities
- Play musical instrument as soloist or as a member of musical group to accompany dance students and faculty during classes, rehearsals and performances and concerts.
