About The Position

This position provides for a clinical and evidence-based use of dance/movement to meet the individualized healthcare goals of patients through individual, group or environmental intervention. The hourly range for this position is $29.43 - $45.39. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy (Approved by the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA)) or Master’s degree in related field with alternate route approved by the ADTA.
  • Degree will be verified.
  • Registered Dance Movement Therapist

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification as a Dance/Movement Therapist.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting
  • Clinical mental health counseling credential

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide appropriate dance/movement therapy interventions for patients and families.
  • Assist in managing and purchasing dance/movement therapy supplies and inventory.
  • Manage time and prioritize patient care and tasks.
  • Document dance/movement therapy interventions in patient charts in a timely and thorough manner, including initial assessments and progress notes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate scope of dance/movement therapy within a clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with medical team, nursing, and other family support service departments, which could include presenting educational in-services about dance/movement therapy within the medical setting.
  • Participates in selection and training of new hires.
  • Adheres to the dance/movement therapy code of ethics.
