Dance Instructor
About The Position
The Dance Instructor is responsible for developing, organizing and instructing various forms of dance including hip hop, ballet, contemporary and/or jazz, to children aged 5 to 18 years of age as well as some adult classes. Prepares detailed lesson plans that are age appropriate. Responsible for the choreography, music selection and costume selection for the annual dance recital. In addition, plans and implements dance parties and dance special events as requested. Follows District safety standards, closely supervises children and provides a learning environment that is safe and fun for program participants.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education or related field.
- At least one to three years of experience in youth dance instruction including ballet, tap, contemporary and/or jazz, and acro.
