About The Position

The City of O'Fallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Dance Instructor. This is a part-time opportunity where you can use your dance know-how and skills in decision making, problem solving and dealing with the public. Our Dance Instructors enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment and earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $21.00 hourly. As part of our Recreation Department, this position plays an important role in providing dance instruction to groups and individuals. Generally, you'll teach a few classes each week, including helping out when a substitute teacher is needed. Availability to work evenings during class times is required.

Requirements

Knowledgeable in dance elements and skills, including acrobats and tumbling
Comfortable leading a group and teaching individuals
Exhibit self-motivation by always looking for ways to improve their knowledge and skills
Show great respect for others and their property
Maintain their assigned equipment with care
Get great satisfaction from contributing to what makes O'Fallon such a great place to live!
Have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

Setting up facilities for programs, events, games, and activities
Providing information and top notice customer service to patrons
Researching and proposing new programs, as well as providing input on improving existing ones
Developing program curriculum and schedules
Teaching a few classes each week
Helping out when a substitute teacher is needed
