About The Position

DivaDance is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor/Choreographer to teach pop-music inspired, choreography-based dance classes. This role involves creating original choreography and teaching adults in a consistent DivaDance format. The ideal candidate is energetic, experienced in choreography and adult instruction, and highly responsive. This position offers flexible hours and opportunities for professional development and leadership growth within a franchise organization. A mandatory online Instructor Development Program must be completed, with a $100 deposit required for training, which is refundable after three months of teaching. Applicants must also take three DivaDance classes before starting the training program.

Requirements

• Experience teaching adults.
• Experience choreographing for adults.
• Super responsive via phone/text.
• Reliable transportation to class locations.
• Ability to arrive 20 minutes early for classes.
• Completion of the online Instructor Development Program.
• Submission of a video of original choreography with the application.
• Alignment with DivaDance Charlotte's Core Values.

• Experience as a former dance team, drill team, or cheerleader.

Responsibilities

• Teach original choreography to clients for DivaDance classes.
• Create choreography for performances.
• Guide performers through rehearsals for performances.
• Potentially teach at multiple DivaDance locations in Charlotte, NC.
• Prepare for classes by arriving 20 minutes early.
• Communicate vacation time and schedule adjustments at least 6 weeks in advance.
• Swap classes with DivaDance staff if needed to cover classes.
• Participate in performance programs, video shoots, and workshops when not scheduled to work.
