Part-Time Dance Instructor/Choreographer
About The Position
DivaDance is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor/Choreographer to teach pop-music inspired, choreography-based dance classes. This role involves creating original choreography for songs and teaching adults in an inclusive, all-levels class setting. The ideal candidate will have a big personality, experience in choreography and adult instruction, and be highly responsive. This is an opportunity to empower others, inspire confidence, and build community within a growing franchise organization. The position requires completion of an online Instructor Development Program, which includes online training, welcome, warmup, and cooldown modules, as well as choreography video submissions. Applicants must also take three DivaDance classes before starting the training program. DivaDance brings classes into existing facilities, and instructors will teach at various locations in Charlotte, NC, requiring reliable transportation. The role also includes opportunities to choreograph routines for performances and coach performers through rehearsals.
Requirements
- Experience teaching adults.
- Experience creating choreography for adults.
- Super responsive via phone/text.
- Must submit a video of original choreography with application.
- Must complete online Instructor Development Program.
- Must take 3 DivaDance classes prior to beginning Instructor Training Program.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must align with DivaDance Charlotte's Core Values.
Nice To Haves
- Former dance team/drill team/cheerleader experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach original choreography to songs ranging from Bey to Biebs.
- Follow the consistent DivaDance class format.
- Create original choreography for performances.
- Guide performers through 5-7 rehearsals before performances.
- Prepare for classes by arriving 20 minutes early.
