About The Position

DivaDance is hiring a part-time, in-person dance fitness instructor and choreographer for its Austin studios. The instructor leads inclusive, all-levels classes using original choreography set to popular music and follows the DivaDance class format, brand standards, and certification program. The role involves arriving performance-ready, creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere, building relationships with clients and teammates, attending trainings and meetings, maintaining class notes and client engagement in the management system, and helping with basic studio setup, breakdown, and cleanliness. The schedule is flexible and based on availability, with a minimum commitment of four shifts per month. Classes are offered at Austin locations near Mueller and Downtown/Southwest, on weekdays and weekends, including evenings. Instructors must complete the online DivaDance Instructor Development Program before teaching their first class; the program is provided at no cost. Compensation is per class based on experience and tenure, with hourly pay for required meetings and trainings, biweekly pay, and client tips accepted. Additional perks include free classes at the studio location, program and merchandise discounts, studio rental discounts, shirts, bonus opportunities at company discretion, feedback, and advancement opportunities. Applicants submit a resume and a video of their original choreography. The selection process includes an initial screening with the Operations Manager, certification training, a 60-day introductory period with coaching and feedback, and ongoing development through monthly class visits and quarterly reviews. The position is non-exempt and at-will. Part-time employees are not eligible for employer-sponsored medical or retirement benefits. Instructors agree not to teach competing dance fitness classes within 25 miles of the locations during employment and for 12 months afterward.
