About The Position

RECONN is seeking Damage Prevention Technicians who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment. As a Damage Prevention Technician, you will be responsible for sites where excavations are being performed. This role requires knowledge of the construction and utility industries. You will ensure that NY 811 is called for utility mark-out and responded to accordingly, and that the scope of work with machinery complies with CR753 during excavation. You will collaborate with contractors on CR 753 daily, provide guidance on corrective actions when needed, and offer positive reinforcement for proper digging practices. This is a full-time position located in the Brooklyn/Queens Area(s).

Requirements

Good safety background.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office products.
Basic computer functions.
Data entry.
Smartphone use.
One-year experience locating gas assets preferred.
Outstanding safety/quality record.
Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
Proficiency with technology.
High level of organizational skills, excellent time management skills, and the ability to focus on details.
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).

Nice To Haves

Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure NY 811 is called for utility mark-out and responded to accordingly.
Ensure the scope of work with machinery is in accordance with CR753 while excavation is being performed.
Work with contractors on CR 753 daily.
Advise on corrective actions when necessary.
Reinforce positively when a proper dig occurs.
Inspect equipment daily.
Daily work planning is a must.
