About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Dairy Department to ensure exceptional customer service, product freshness, merchandising excellence, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. This position assists in leading department associates, maintaining in-stock conditions, managing inventory, and ensuring department standards are consistently achieved while delivering a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous dairy, grocery, retail, or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and customer service principles.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Basic computer and reporting skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of merchandise up to company standards.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and cooler environments.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, carts, ladders, and department equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily Dairy Department operations and ensure department standards are maintained.
  • Assist with execution of company programs, merchandising initiatives, and promotional events.
  • Ensure department conditions meet standards for cleanliness, organization, safety, and product quality.
  • Monitor product availability and assist in maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Support the Department Manager in achieving operational and financial objectives.
  • Deliver and promote exceptional customer service throughout the department.
  • Assist customers with product selection, product location, and product-related questions.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a customer-focused culture that drives satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure associates provide friendly and efficient service.
  • Maintain attractive, fully stocked, and properly merchandised displays.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution.
  • Monitor product rotation, code dates, and freshness standards.
  • Remove damaged, outdated, or unsellable products promptly.
  • Support seasonal and promotional merchandising activities.
  • Assist with ordering and replenishment activities to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory movement and identify out-of-stock opportunities.
  • Support inventory counts and maintain accurate department records.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage procedures are followed.
  • Assist in controlling shrink through effective inventory management and rotation practices.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to department associates.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Monitor task completion and ensure work is performed according to company standards.
  • Support employee development and performance improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Monitor cooler temperatures and product storage conditions.
  • Maintain department sanitation schedules and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of refrigerated products.
  • Address food safety concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor productivity and workflow within the department.
  • Support efficient receiving, stocking, and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure backroom, cooler, and sales floor areas remain organized and safe.
  • Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency and execution.
  • Partner with store leadership to achieve department and store goals.
  • Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Ensure associates use equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Report and address safety concerns immediately.
  • Support accident prevention and safety awareness initiatives.
