About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Dairy Department by ensuring product availability, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and exceptional customer service. This position supervises department employees, maintains quality and freshness standards, and assists in achieving sales, shrink, and productivity goals. The Dairy Supervisor serves as a department leader and may assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of store management.

Requirements

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Dairy Department employees.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to department team members.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.
  • Monitor employee performance and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee daily Dairy Department activities, including stocking, rotation, merchandising, and inventory maintenance.
  • Ensure dairy cases, coolers, and displays remain stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor product availability and coordinate replenishment efforts.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Assist with scheduling and workflow management as assigned.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and special requests.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure department employees provide courteous and efficient service.
  • Execute merchandising plans, promotional displays, and sales initiatives.
  • Ensure products are properly signed, priced, and displayed according to company standards.
  • Monitor sales trends and product movement.
  • Maintain attractive and fully stocked dairy displays.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve department performance.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain in-stock conditions.
  • Ensure proper product rotation using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices.
  • Identify and address out-of-code, damaged, or unsaleable products.
  • Support shrink reduction efforts through effective inventory management and product handling.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor product temperatures and ensure proper cold-chain management.
  • Maintain dairy coolers, cases, and storage areas in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Report and address safety concerns immediately.
  • Support achievement of department sales, labor, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor productivity and execution of daily tasks.
  • Assist leadership in implementing operational improvement plans.
  • Support store-wide initiatives and business objectives.
