About The Position

Alta Genetics is seeking a passionate and proven business consultant to join their globally renowned sales team in Colorado and Western Kansas. This "boots on the ground" role will focus on delivering value-added genetic solutions and programs, building a dairy herd customer portfolio, and retaining existing customers. The position involves fostering relationships with large producers, providing support with herd management software, offering technical assistance to dairymen, managing inventory, ordering, invoicing, and collaborating with support staff to ensure exceptional service to farmers, producers, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Considerable (local) travel is required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Dairy Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience in dairy or beef genetics, reproduction services, or livestock sales is preferred
  • In depth genetic knowledge and familiarity with dairy management software programs are considered assets

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell Alta's genetics, related products and services
  • Provide an excellent and efficient experience to clients
  • Evaluate and assess customer accounts and product offerings for continuous improvement
  • Increase Alta's market share through existing customer base and core business of large herds
  • Prospect, develop, and manage new business
  • Promote Alta products and services at local and regional dairy events
  • Review monthly sales reports
  • Manage expenses, inventory, and accounts receivable
