Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in a Walmart maintenance technician position OR 1 year's experience in industrial maintenance (e.g., welding, refrigeration, electrical, electronics), including six months leading a work or project team.

Responsibilities

  • Supports associate engagement by providing learning opportunities, building relationships, providing cross-training opportunities, and consistently encouraging teamwork with other areas.
  • Monitors work plans, workloads, and associates to meet deadlines by talking with associates to solve problems, resolving delay issues to stay on schedule, and using systems to audit progress and identify concerns early within a shift.
  • Manages maintenance department daily operations by ensuring proper diagnosis of equipment problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair power equipment, electrical systems, electronics, conveyor systems, and other areas of the facility. Ensures associates are trained to properly make repairs to equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, conveyers). Monitors the energy center where applicable and performs general building repairs.
  • Supports production by ensuring quality operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Assigns and supports activities to ensure compliance with external rules and regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT). Assigns and supports the maintenance of the automated material handling equipment and systems that support the plant.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
