The DA Legal Secretary I position in the office provides administrative support in the County Court, Juvenile Court or Intake divisions within the Weld County District Attorney's Office. Performs complex duties; types documents, correspondence, reports, case files utilizing technical terminology and composition skills requiring accuracy and completeness. Types a variety of confidential documents, motions and correspondence. Electronically file motions with court. Verify docket, order and maintain tracking of evidence and reports, produce subpoenas, discovery. Establishes and maintains filing systems, pulling files, updating and replacing them as needed. Data entry of disposition and sentences and updating of court events into case management system. Obtain NCIC/CCIC criminal histories and certified copies of convictions. Acts as a liaison with 29 Weld County law enforcement agencies, defense attorneys, answers inquiries from the public. Operates a variety of office equipment, which includes personal computer, fax, copier. Communicates current and anticipated problems to superior. Performs related work as required. Other Duties as Assigned: Coverage for front desk reception as needed, coverage for other legal assistants/office technicians as needed, special projects as assigned.
